The ZipFit Classic

The Classic is the standard ZipFit model, providing the most supportive and comfortable experience in all standard boots and sizes.

The new ZipFit Classic features:

  • reinforced asymmetric tongue
  • silver cuff spoiler
  • integrated reinforced heat moldable leather side-panels
  • OneMinuteFit molding compound embedded in the tongue and ankle pockets
  • Tongue-retainer and toe-cover seals all seams, keeping heat in and moisture out
  • Power Strap secures lower leg support as the first adjustment

  • Every feature of the the Classic adapts comfortably to the dynamic support of the foot and leg -- for the most demanding customer: the comfort-minded advanced to expert recreational skier, and the ski pro who spends all day, every day, in boots.

These are some of the features that were originated 35 years ago for the legendary ZipFit designer Sven Coomer.

The Classic is for the skier who uses normal comfortably sized shells in popular models, and who seeks remarkably improved support and performance in every snow and skiing situation.

The Classic produces ski enthusiasts who look forward to putting on their boots every morning for years to come.

The emphasis in the new design is on comfort and insulation, while preserving the Classics’ legendary competence for improved edge sensitivity and balance control, in any ski boot model.

The extraordinarily precise and comfortable fit derive from proprietary padding and embedded One Minute Fit molding compound. The compound is ready to be activated by 30 seconds in a microwave oven, after which the innerboot should be buckled into a pre-heated shell.

There is nothing to mix or inject. Nothing to screw up or fail.

The Classic is designed to work in all the popular boot models, in normally sized or even oversized shells. It’s available in both neoprene and leather linings, in sizes 215 to 335.

ZipFit Inside

Behind the lining is a proprietary slow memory foam, providing an instant sense of plush comfort. Backing that up is the embedded OneMinuteFit molding compound, with its uncanny ability to seize the foot precisely, comfortably, and powerfully. Everything is tailored to offer a sense of uncompromising support that will last for many years, and through several pairs of new shells. When buying new boots you simply transfer the liners to the new shells and repeat the initial fitting process. Keep the factory liners for when you want to sell the boots.

Experienced professional and expert skiers do not waste even one day skiing in the factory installed liners. They go straight to using their faithful Classic.

Redesigned to perform

In 2007, and again in 2009, the Classic was completely redesigned, using new materials and a reformulated OMFit© molding mix.

Two choices are available for the lining material: a high quality Schoeller cordura, backed with alveolite insulation foam, and a high quality neoprene and elastic lycra wet-suit material. This creates the most comfortable conformation from the OMFit molding compound, improving the level of support.

New reinforced blue leather side panels and snow collars provide for more effective support and comfort.

The reinforced spoiler is now raked back to allow the skier to stand up straighter, and to fit the latest trends in shell spoiler designs.

Notice that the silver spoiler plastic is substantial and designed to offer the lower leg the most positive support, for a direct connection to the lower shell. The spoiler wraps and supports the leg’s shape so effectively that it eliminates the variables and gaps in the shell’s spoiler. In this way the lower leg support is virtually independent of the shell’s spoiler design. In fact, it carries control inputs directly to the lower shell. The result: less shell bulging during flexing, and less need to buckle tightly.

Since support and fit are now a direct function of the Espresso liner, independent of the shell closure, the buckles are now used instead to select the desired ankle flexing action of the boot shell.

Other features. The blue snow collar is asymmetric: higher over the inside edge and lower over the outside edge. This permits less resistance for the foot to invert readily for more effective foot steering and edge control.

Likewise, the tongue is asymmetric, to fill in the normal cavity of the leg just above the inside ankle bone.

The tongue retainer-snow/water barrier at the bottom of the tongue is used to cover the stitching, keeping body heat in and moisture out. Small round foam shims can also be inserted to softly fill the air space above the toes to help keep the toes down and to support the space that is otherwise unadjustable.

This is the classic ZipFitinner boot, carefully tailored and engineered with premium quality materials to eradicate the problems created by cheaply-made factory liners.
