Gara HV ski boot liners:

Skier type

Designed for the all mountain skier seeking performance, the Gara HV (high volume) ski boot liners offer uncompromising edge control, with an engaging forward leaning design, keeping you balanced through bumps, steeps, powder, and chunder. Recognized as Best of 2020/2021 by Blister Magazine, the award winning Gara is the signature liner in our fleet and is now offered in low volume and high volume models to accommodate more skiers.

The interior is stitched with comfortable neoprene that offers just the right amount of padding and is easy to slide on or slip off. Gara HV ski boot liners properly position your foot so that your toes have wiggle room and stay warm thanks to a neoprene toe box insulated with Thinsulate and merino wool. A moderately stiff cuff makes the Gara our most versatile liner, capable of performing in any terrain on the mountain.

The Gara HV liner is pre-packed with the most OMFit self-molding cork composite, specifically designed for higher volume performance boots and lower volume feet. While the Gara HV comes pre-packed with more cork, skiers can still add more cork to the tongue or ankle pockets to dial in their perfect fit. If the Gara HV has too much volume for your ski boot shells, consider the Gara LV model.

The ZipFit way:

ZipFit was founded by Sven Coomer, a pivotal character in the transition from leather ski boots to the modern plastic ski boot shell. ZipFits are designed to restore the feel and function lost in the transition from handmade leather boots to factory produced plastic shells by offering a custom fit solution — liners that don’t pack out, keep feet in the proper position, and last for seasons to come. We source the highest quality materials and make our ski boot liners by hand in Montebelluna, Italy.

Sven helped pioneer foam injection liners but was frustrated with the “one-and-done” fitting process and the volatile chemicals used in foam injection. ZipFit, which stands for Zero Injection Pressure Fit, offers customers a ready, out of the bag solution that morphs to the anatomy and needs of the skier’s foot. Our liners have three ports where our proprietary cork composite (a sustainable solution with no volatile chemicals) can be added for increased heel hold, ankle comfort, or padding in the tongue.

ZipFit values at work:

All ZipFit ski boot liners work best when used with a quality orthotic footbed. For proper boot fitting, we recommend finding your local certified ZipFit dealer or following the instructions for at home fitting. ZipFit has a money back guarantee if our ski boot liners are not the best solution for your feet. Additionally, if you take care of your liners appropriately but your ZipFits have a defect or show abnormal wear and tear, please contact us, we will take care of you. We want our skiers on the slopes skiing and will be sure to find a solution.

I’ve skied for 28 years and have always been averse to gimmicks in ski gear/technology. Zips aren’t a gimmick. These liners are just an entirely different level of performance. Now when I think about it, it’s crazy to think that we all have skied in foam liners for so long. Zipfits are a proper boot – made with leather, clearly designed around the shape of a foot and a leg, and built with quality and care. I look at old foam liners now, they’re not that different from the foam liner in my Sorel winter boots – they’re pathetic. I’m more than satisfied with the quality of these liners based on the comfort and performance alone- if I can get half as many days as some other Zipfit users, I’ll be over the moon. I ski this liner in a Fischer Curv 130

I ski in a Lange 130 RS, wide, and could not get that 125% fit and ordered the new Gara HV (high volume) and oh, what a relief it is… That ‘high volume’ has made an amazing difference. I have skied since the middle of last century and fall into the category of “Grooomer Boomer” and the ZipFit is absolutely the best, most comfortable, supportive inner boot I ever skied in. That everchanging, moldable cork really makes the difference… (Had I known, I would have started saving my wine corks a long time ago…).

  3. Jan P.

Been skiing in em for 10 days or so and so far they’re bomber and hold my feet tight and right where I want. 5th start will come after 100, 200, 300+ days when I can truly see what the hype is all about. Friggen stoked so far tho!

    Love em!! My 2nd pair
