We had the opportunity to chat with Dave Asmussen, one of the lead Boot Fitters at JH Sports in Teton Village, at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
How long have you worked at JH Sports?
I worked for JH Sports for six years, Crystal Mtn in Washington before that and got my start at Snowbird, UT.
How long have you skied in ZipFits and what is your choice liner/boot setup?
I’ve been skiing in ZipFits since 2009, I use the Lange RX130 and Lange XT3 130 with the Zipfit World Cup Neoprene (modern day Gara LV) in both boots.
What is one thing skiers should know about JH Sports?
One thing skiers should know about JH Sports is we have two Board Certified Pedorthists on staff, myself and Pat Sullivan, making us equipped to handle just about any foot issue. Our other Boot Fitters have been through the Masterfit Certification program, making us one of the most knowledgeable groups out there!
How does JH Sports make boot fitting accessible?
JH Sports makes boot fitting accessible by helping all types of skiers, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. We help everyone and we especially make sure skiers leave with the correct product for the ability and the right equipment from the start, If something is not right, we can fix it. The best thing about ZipFits is the break in process is minimal so people don’t have to spend their whole vacation trying to break-in a new boot or liner
What should we know about your staff?
Our staff are all firm believers in ZipFit and how the liners help people enjoy their vacation more! They can also rip on skis and on mountain bikes in the summer! Additionally, two of us are getting married this summer.
